Richardson's Rock Ranch in Madras
Harney County, Southeastern Oregon: Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, these public land sites offer opportunities to find thundereggs along with geodes, petrified wood, jasper, and agate. Ochoco National Forest, Central Oregon: A favorite among rock collectors, this National Forest has both private pay-to-dig and free public land sites for thunderegg hunting.
